Optical Gas Imaging (OGI)

Optical Gas Imaging (OGI) is an advanced, non-contact technology used to detect and visualize gas leaks, typically in real-time, by using specialized infrared cameras. OGI are use to detect gases that are invisible to the naked eye, such as methane, sulfur hexafluoride, and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). This technology enhances safety, compliance, and environmental stewardship by identifying leaks that could be hazardous, wasteful, or environmentally damaging.

Common Applications of OGI :

  • Methane Leak Detection: Common in oil and gas fields,
pipelines, and storage facilities, methane detection is
crucial for reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
  • Inspection of Petrochemical Plants: Helps identify leaks in
valves, flanges, and other potential points of failure in
    chemical manufacturing and refining.
  • Power Generation: Detects sulfur hexafluoride (SF₆) leaks
in transformers and circuit breakers, critical for power
    stations.
