Infrared Thermography Survey

Infrared (IR) Thermography is the process of using a non-contact Thermal Imager to detect radiation from an object. IR Thermography detects emitted radiation in the infrared range of the electromagnetic spectrum.

For Electrical Installation, IR Thermography is commonly used to detect unbalanced loads, deteriorated insulation, or other potential problems in energized electrical components.

For Mechanical Installlation, IR Thermography can also be to identify unusual heat patterns, which could be signs of system flaws, malfunctions, or other inefficiencies.

For anomalies discovered in Electrical Installations, a general Severity Classification based on a Delta-T Criteria has been created in accordance with “best industrial practise” in order to prioritise the repair urgency and provide the best approach in Condition Based Maintenance (CBM) technique.
